Coronavirus: SMC conducts special sanitisation drive in hospitals

Coronavirus Cases In India Rise From 236 To 283, Highest In Maharashtra

Srinagar: Srinagar Municipal Corporation on Monday conducted special sanitation drives in city hospitals.

In a statement, SMC spokesperson said the special squad today covered various hospitals in the city including LD Hospital, CD Hospital, SKIMS, GB Panth  Bone and  Joints Hospital and SMHS Hospital.

“SMC is also conducting continuous sterilization drives at designated quarantines. A fully equipped special team is in a mode of readiness to expand the said drives at all those locations that shall be designated as quarantine homes,” said Commissioner SMC Gazanfar Ali.

He said SMC is covering all the essential service locations declared as per Government including hospitals, banks, ration depots.

Regarding garbage lifting, the Commissioner sought cooperation from the citizens of Srinagar to retain garbage until SMC sanitary worker does not approach them for the collection of waste.

The Commissioner said that SMC will conduct constant sterilization drives in and around Srinagar Airport and the belongings of passengers. He said SRTC buses and Ambulances stationed at Airport are continuously undergoing sterilization drive.

He said the SMC is conducting special sterilization drives and WHO recommended chemical spraying, after regular intervals at all the designated quarantine places in the city.
