Covid-19: 3 Pregnant women among 28 test positive, tally passes 1300-Mark in J&K

Srinagar: Three pregnant women and two minors were among 28 persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Tuesday, taking the over tally of the Covid-19 patients in the J&K to over 1300 mark.

Among the fresh cases, 22 are from Kashmir and six from Jammu, officials told GNS.
Sources at Government Medical College Srinagar, told GNS among the 1006 samples processed at CD hospital’s Covid-19 testing lab in last 24 hours, 13 returned positive for the disease.

They include nine from Anantnag district while one each is from Kulgam (24-year-old man from Yaripora), Sopore (43-year-old male), Kangan Ganderbal (33-year-old pregnant woman) and Hajabagh Baramulla (41-year-old male, admitted in Jammu.)

The Anantnag cases include 29-year-old from Kokernag (admitted to Jammu), 2 pregnant women –25-year-old from Sanglar and 34-year-old from Kathur) besides 35-year-old woman from Kathur, 20-year-old man from Harteng, 22-year-old woman from Dooru, 20-year-old man from Watzan  and 35-year-old from Katriteng area.

Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Professor Farooq Jan told GNS that nine samples at the viral diagnostic lab of the hospital returned positive of the pathogen. They include six from Kulgam district—12-year-old boy, two men—aged 25 and 40— besides 40-year-old woman from Karewa while two others, one a 14-year-old girl and 27-year-old woman, are from Chatabal area.

The three other cases reported at SKIMS include 52-year-old woman from Reshipora Pulwama, 23-year-old from Tailwani Anantnag with travel history to Gurgaon and 43-year-old man from Rajouri Jammu. 

Six other samples were confirmed at army’s Command Hospital Udhampur and include three from Kathua, one each from Samba, Anantnag and Udhampur districts, sources said. (GNS)
