Covid infected Shopian woman dies of Septicemia

Srinagar: A 60-year-old woman from South Kashmir’s Shopian district died this evening at Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar.

Dr. Saleem Tak told news agency KNT that the lady was a COVID patient but the cause of her death was hypertension and Septicemia which is a serious bloodstream infection. It’s also known as blood poisoning.

Septicemia occurs when a bacterial infection elsewhere in the body, such as the lungs or skin, enters the bloodstream.

He said the patient was in serious condition and had been admitted to the hospital yesterday. (KNT)
