Defense minister Rajnath Singh to pay two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir
Srinagar: Starting on Thursday, 16 June, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is traveling to the forward areas of Jammu and Kashmir for a two-day tour, during which he will assess the overall security situation in the state, reported Times of India (ToI).
The Defence Minister will be interacting with the troops during his visit to the forward areas of J-K. On the second day of his visit, Singh will attend the 200th anniversary of Maharaja Gulab Singh’s ‘Rajyabhishek Ceremony’ in Jammu.
“Tomorrow, 16th June, I would be in Jammu & Kashmir for a two-day visit. I shall be visiting forward areas and interacting with troops during my visit. Also, I shall attend the 200th anniversary of Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji’s ‘Rajyabhishek Ceremony’ in Jammu on 17th June, Friday,” the Defence Minister tweeted.
As per the reports of PTI, senior commanders of the Army are scheduled to brief Singh about the overall security situation in the hinterland as well as along the Line of Control (LoC).
