Government forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in new Colony Kanigund Beerwah village in Central Kashmir’s district Budgam on Friday evening
Reports reaching Kashmir Dot Com said a joint team of army’s 53RR, SOG and 79 BN of CRPF cordoned off new Colony Kanigund Beerwah and conducted house to house searches there.
Reports said that all entry and exit points towards the area were sealed off by the security forces.
A police officer told KDC that a search operation was launched following inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
Searches were going on in the area when last reports came in. (KDC)
