Jammu and Kashmir police recovered a girl and arrested her kidnapper in south Kashmir district of Kulgam, a police spokesman said on Tuesday evening.
He said a complaint was lodged in police station Mirbazar in Kulgam on March 21 by a person that an unknown person kidnapped her 14-year-old daughter.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation a team headed by Incharge Police Post Mirbazar was constituted.
Acting on specific leadds, the team was able to recover the kidnapped girl from Hyderabad and arrested the accused person identified as Gowhar Ahmad Mir resident of Lalan Anantnag.
He said after fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs. Investigation into the matter is in progress.
