An army trooper shot himself dead with his service rifle along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu region, reported a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS), quoting unnamed official sources.
The source informed that the trooper, Mohit Kumar, of 39 Rashtriya Rifles died on the spot after he shot himself on the head at a forward area along LoC in Mankato Sector. Originally from 16 Gdr, they said, the trooper was presently posted with 39RR. However, the reason behind the suicide could not be immediately known. (GNS)
