BJP woman leader hoist tricolour in Anantnag

Anantnag: A local woman leader of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday hoisted the tricolour flag at Lal Chowk of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district to celebrate the anniversary of abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of the state into two separate Union Territories.


The lone BJP leader, Rumisa Rafiq, appeared in the main town of Anantnag today to hoist the national flag, ignoring all threat perception, hoisted the national flag on the wall of the fountain. Her hoisting act comes nearly 12 hours after a BJP Sarpanch Asif Ahmad was shot at and critically injured by militants at Qazigund in south Kashmir last night. The wounded BJP leader was later referred to Srinagar hospital by doctors of local hospital.

Another BJP local woman leader, Rabiya Rasool District President Mahila Morcha Ganderbal hoisted the flag at the Ganderbal market.


Today, August 5, marks one year of abrogation of special status that was granted under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution to Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP in the Union Territory has given a call for celebrations.

Pertinently, In other places of the UT BJP leaders were seen hoisting National flags to celebrate the Abrogation of Article 370 of Indian constitution.
