Four Apprehend With Contraband During CASO in Beerwah Village

Budgam: Special Operations Group (SOG) alongwith Army and CRPF apprehended at least four persons during a cordon-and-search-operation Danseera Beerwah in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, alleged of possessing contraband.

“During a cordon and search operation (CASO) at village Danseera, an SOG team led by Ajay Sharma alongside 62 RR and 181 Battalion CRPF, apprehended three persons identified as Junaid Ahmed Dar son of Gh Mohi Din Dar resident of Danseera Beerwah, Adil Ahmed Ganaie son of Lt. Gh Ahmad Ganaie and Nasir Ali Dar son of Ali Mohd Dar residents of Sonapah Beerwah Budgam”, reads a statement issued here.

“Upon their personal search, 17 sticks of charas like substance alongwith mobile phone (Realme), 17 sticks of charas like substance alongwith mobile phone (Samsung) & 16 sticks of charas like substance with mobile phone (Redmi 9A) were recovered from their possession.”

“Similarly, specific information was received by the Police Station Beerwah that one person namely Abdul Ahad Wani son of Mohammad Subhan Wani resident of Pethkote is dealing with drugs and has concealed Poppy straw in his cowshed and is about to relocate the same contraband for further distribution among youth of the area etc.”, reads the statement.

Acting swiftly, a police party of PS Beerwah led by SHO Mudasir Ahmad raided the said spot and during search 6Kgs of Poppy straw was recovered”, reads the statement.

The accused person was also arrested on the spot.
