India recorded its biggest single-day jump in the number of coronavirus cases and deaths linked to COVID-19 with 9,996 new patients registered in the last 24 hours and 357 patients died due to the disease.
However, the number of recoveries has overtaken the total COVID-19 active cases in India for the first time even as the country reported close to 10,000 new instances of the infection pushing the cumulative tally to over 2.86 lakh cases.
