BDC Chairman Sangrama, socio-political activist Iftikhar Hussain hold silent sit-in protest against water scarcity in Sangrama villages

Sopore: Block Development Council (BDC) Chairman, Shameema, who was accompanied by socio-political activist and Apni Party worker, Iftikhar Hussain, held a silent sit-in protest outside Jal Shakti Department office Sopore against the water scarcity in Sangrama villages.

They said that several villages of Sangrama constituency including Wagub, Krankshivan, Panzipora and Alibagh are facing acute shortage of drinking water. “The concerned officials are well aware of the hardships being faced by the people due to non availability of drinking water.”

“No official has tried to give a fair hearing to our grievances, let alone addressing them and as a result we were left with no choice but to hold a silent sit-in to make our demand heard,” they said.

“We will continue to protest until our grievances are addressed,” they added.
