Four positive cases of coronavirus in J&K so far, reports of four others awaited: Govt

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday said that only four persons have tested positive for coronavirus so far, while the reports of four others are awaited.

“In UT of Jammu & Kashmir till date 3330 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been put under surveillance, 2465 in Home Quarantine, 44 in Hospital Quarantine, 416 in Home surveillance, 405

completed their 28 days surveillance period. 186 samples have been sent for testing, 178 negative, 04 (Four) tested positive, 04 reports awaited,” said the government in its Friday’s health bulletin.

It added that a 24×7 toll free national helpline number 1075 has been activated for support, guidance, and response to health related queries on Novel Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19). J&K Covid-19 Helpline No.s 0191-2549676 (UT level Cell for J&K), 0191-2520982 (For Jammu Division), 0194- 2440283 & 0194-2430581(For Kashmir Division).

The government, through the bulletin, said that any person with travel history to COVID-19 affected countries or person in contact with such a traveller, whether they are having symptoms or not, must remain in 14 days home quarantine. “If the person feels unwell (cough, fever or difficulty in breathing) avoid exposure to others and seek medical care at the earliest,” added the bulletin.
