Srinagar: Gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Kawoosa Khalisa area in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday.
According to the reports, a joint team of Police, Army and Central Reserve Police Force launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Kawoosa Khalisa.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering of a gunfight.
A local news gathering agency Global News Service (GNS) quoting a senior police official reported the exchange of fire between the joint team and the militants. Two to three militants are believed to be trapped.(GNS)
