J-K Police distributes food, other items among needy

Srinagar: Continuing its efforts to reach out to the needy people, Police have distributed food and other items in Srinagar & Kupwara districts and Police Districts of Handwara & Awantipora of Kashmir valley.

In Srinagar, Police and CRPF distributed food and other items at Kaksaraie among the needy persons, who were in need of these essentials. Police also distributed food items among Daily Wagers & labourers residing in Shivpora area. Similarly, Police along with an NGO (Javeed Foundation) distributed care kits among the needy people in Nowhatta area.

In Kupwara, Police teams from Police Station Kupwara and Police Post PP Bazar distributed food and other items among the needy people living in the area who have been affected by the lockdown.

Similarly, Police in Handwara distributed food items, sanitizers and masks among general public across PD Handwara through concerned SHOs and DOs.

In Awantipora, food and dry ration was distributed among the stranded migrant labourers at Khrew, Pampore, Awantipora and Tral areas. From the last two days, Awantipora Police have distributed free ration and food to 157 migrant labourers who were in need of food and ration.

Apart from distributing food & other items, Police teams from their respective police establishments across the Kashmir valley made people aware about the precautions issued by health department through loudspeakers, drones and whatever way possible. They were also advised to stay at their homes in order to stay safe.(KNS)
