JKGBYWC holds Protest against Director Tribal Affair in Srinagar

Srinagar: J&K Gujjar Bakerwal Youth Welfare Conference, headed by Chief Advisor Ch Mushtaq Budgami and State President, Zahid Parwaz Choudhary, held a demonstration in Press Enclave Srinagar.

The protest was held against Director Tribal Affair for delaying to release and disburse the Scholarship among ST students.

they were demending for the immediate removal of Director Tribal Affair.

“The Director is negligent and incompetent he has made the Office defunct. Six months passed but students are still waiting to get their Scholarship despite having funds available,” They said.

They alleged that the performance of Director is poor. They added, last year surendered all the funds for the upgradation hostels, Vehicles for the Girls of Gujjar Bakerwal community and tants for Nomads, Milk villages and Cluster Tribal villages were not utilised.

They demanded for the immediate release of Scholarship of ST Students.They added, “otherwise, we will start state wide compaign against the Department.”

They said, they were fed up with the lackidasical approach of administration.

“Development of Gujjar Bakerwal community have been hampered in J&K due to the negligence of the  government and Tribal Affair Department,” they alleged.

“On the one hand the central government has been releasing funds for various development activities, under SCA to TSP Scheme. On the other side the J&K government has not been able to spend them Properly.”

The activists demanded the intervention of Lt Governor, to initiate an Enquiry in this regard.

They also raised the Slogans against District administration Kathua for evicting and displacing the people from their native places.
