A militant associate of LeT outfit was arrested at Nagbal Chandoosa in Baramulla while one grenade was recovered from his possession.
Police spokesperson said that on a specific information a joint team of Baramulla police & 52 RR placed a MVCP at Shranz crossing Nagbal Chandoosa and one suspect person who was coming from Shrunz tried to flee while noticing joint naka party but was apprehended tactfully.
During his personal search one grenade was recovered from him and was taken into custody immediately. The arrested person was later identified as Mohd Ashraf Mir s/o Mohd Shafi Mir r/o Laridoora Chandoosa and is working as associate of LeT outfit, he said.
It is pertinent to mention that the said arrested associate is a surrendered militant.
The case under Indian Arms Act & UA (P) Act has been registered in police station Chandoosa and investigation was taken up, he said. (KS)
