Srinagar: One militant was killed in an ongoing gunfight between security forces and militants in Dairoo Keegam village of Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday morning.
Reports said that on specific inputs about the presence of militants, Security forces launches a cordon and search operation in the area.
As forces zeroed towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired at forces leading to gunfire exchange. This triggered an encounter, reports said.
Two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
The operation is underway.
