A militant and an army man were killed while a policeman was injured in an ongoing gunbattle in Gusso area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
Official sources told GNS that in the ongoing firefight one unidentified militant has been killed.
An. Army soldier and cop of J&K Police were also injured in initial exchange of fire.
Both army trooper and the cop were shifted to a hospital where the soldier succumbed.
The gunfight broke out after a joint team of Police, Army’s 53RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Gusso.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
