Chattabal Fire Leaves Five Families Homeless

Srinagar: At least five residential houses were gutted in fire at Bagi Sunder Payeen area of Chattabal in Srinagar on Tuesday morning, officials said.

According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), five families were rendered homeless after the massive fire broke out from one of the residential houses there.

The fire spread to four other houses, leaving them fully gutted, officials said, adding that the residential houses belonged to Shakil Ahmad Wani, son of Ghulam Rasool Wani, Javid Ahmad Wani, son of Ghulam Ahmad Wani, Khazir Muhammad Wani, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Wani, Muhammad Usman Wani, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Wani.

Soon after the fire broke out, the fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the fire with the help of locals.

The locals later appealed the Jammu and Kashmir administration to rehabilitate the fire affected families. (KNO)
