Pulse Polio drive held across Shopian

A three-phase pulse polio program began across the Shopian today despite the accumulated snow in some parts of the district.

The Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IIPI) Programme began today across district shopian during which thousands of children of 0 to 5 years age group were administered polio vaccination drops to protect them against the crippling disease.

The Pulse Polio Immunization campaign was launched by the Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Shrikant Suse at Public Health Centre Tukroo Shopian District.

He was informed that as many as 233 Pulse Polio booths,03 transit teams and 01 mobile team have been set up across the district to vaccinate 39414 children. Besides, 948 health workers including Anganwari and ASHA workers have been deployed for the job.


Among others the program was attended by Chief Medical Officer, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Block Medical Officer, District Immunization Officer besides others concerned.
