Inspection Unveils Violations in Drug Retail Establishments in Shopian/Pulwama District
Assistant Drugs Controller recently led a comprehensive inspection in and around District Hospital Shopian to assess the compliance status of vital protocols.
The focus was on the installation of CCTV cameras and the implementation of a computerized billing system. During the inspection, scrutiny of the sale/purchase records of habit-forming and scheduled drugs took place.
Resultantly, three drug retail sales establishments were barred from operation due to various violations discovered on the spot. This decisive action underscores the department’s commitment to upholding regulatory standards and ensuring public safety.
The Assistant Drugs Controller reiterated the department’s dedication to conducting routine inspections for the community’s welfare. Chemists were specifically instructed to adhere strictly to selling medicines only on valid prescriptions and to fully comply with licensing conditions.
This proactive stance reaffirms the government’s resolve to maintain stringent oversight in the pharmaceutical sector, prioritizing the well-being of citizens.
